Time(s): Wednesday, January 15 from 2.30pm-4.30pm
Location: This session will run in the computer labs on Auahatanga | Creativity (level four) at Tūranga
Price: $24 for a single student working on a robot, $36 for two students sharing a robot
Session Length: 120 minutes
Are your skills up for the challenge of serious robot war? We've reimagined our classic Battlebots class so you can try out some of Imagination Station's newest robotics equipment! LEGO SPIKE Prime balances the simplicity of LEGO WeDO 2.0 with the sophistication of LEGO Mindstorms EV3, making it perfect for students aged 9-12. Students will program their robots using Scratch, a coding platform many kids are already familiar with and a great place to start learning to code. This session will develop participants' confidence in programming, robot building and mechanics as they compete against one another in a sumo-style competition!
We recommend younger students have some previous experience with coding using Scratch before taking this class. (Students under the age of eight must be accompanied by an adult.)
Imagination Station does not supervise students between classes, this is the responsibility of the parent/caregiver. Some courses may be run in multiple locations. Please check individual session listings carefully for details.
