Creativity in the Community: Imagination Station at St Albans

What happens when you combine the St. Albans Community Day and Imagination Station? A fun-filled, giant LEGO bonanza!

We had a fantastic day out this weekend at St Albans Community Day. Hosted by the Community Focus Trust and held at the beautiful St. Albans Park. There was not a cloud in sight throughout the family focused day, but the sunshine called for sunscreen at all times!

The joy we receive from taking our Mobile Imagination Station on the road to visit new places is second to none! We were especially excited to be part of an outdoors event, set up between enormous Snakes and Ladders, and a massive Connect 4 Board. Everywhere you looked there was something to play with!

We were busy in no time - with giant LEGO Soft, a pit full of LEGO, and the green bricks from our mono-colour collection. You may have seen our other mono-colour collections at other events around Ōtautahi. So many people came and played with our LEGO over the day. Imagination and creativity was in full swing while constructing helicopters, hot air balloons, thrones and castles, and even a playstation lounge! We loved seeing how each child’s imagination was put into action.

Creativity is one of our four key values - we love to see dreams turned into reality through our LEGO bricks.

Creativity is one of our four key values - we love to see dreams turned into reality through our LEGO bricks. Accessibility is also one of our four key values, which is why outreach is so important to us. Our community does so much to support us, and we love getting the chance to give back and share our amazing resources!

If you’re local to Christchurch, you can join us on Hapori (Level 1) in Tūranga to discover the world of LEGO.
